die Regierung rudert vorerst zurück

Wie die schwedische Regierung mitteilt, wird das geplante Verbot von bleihaltiger Munition, das bereits 2001 für die Zeit ab 2006 angekündigt worden war, vorerst doch noch nicht in Kraft gesetzt. Grund hierfür sind die noch mangelnden Alternativen, dies berichtet "Environment Daily" - eine Internetzeitung für Umweltbelange - in ihrer Ausgabe 05/1911 vom 30. Juni 2005.

Im englischsprachigen Originaltext heißt es:

"Sweden has postponed until 2008 a total ban on lead in ammunition originally scheduled for next year. "Our ambitions to phase out lead... stand fast [but] we are putting off the ban because it is taking longer than expected to find suitable alternatives", environment minister Lena Sommestad said in a statement on Thursday. The national chemicals inspectorate (KemI) and environmental protection authority (EPA) are to compile a comprehensive report on the issue, including the likely effect of the ban on sports shooting and hunting. A possible rescheduling was mooted when the phase-out was announced four years ago (ED 02/0701)."
